Obituary for Alfred R. Kennedy

KENNEDY- Alfred R. of Arlington, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2018 at the age of 93. Preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Elsie (Rosolik). Survived by his daughters Judith Richard and her husband Michael of Arlington and Nancy Kennedy of Berlin and Arlington. Beloved grandfather of William Richard of Ypsilanti, MI. Brother of Robert Kennedy of California, Ronald Kennedy of Nebraska, the late Jack Kennedy of Nebraska and the late Rose Ann Collins of Texas.

Born in Omaha, Nebraska to the late Dwight and Martha Kennedy, he attended Sacred Heart grade school and Omaha Tech High School. Al enlisted in the Navy in 1942 and retired in 1961 as a Chief Petty Officer. He served in the North Atlantic and South Pacific in WWII and notable for Admiral Byrd’s expedition to the Antarctic right after WWII. Retiree of Harvard University and Mass General Hospital.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday December 1 from 9am to 11am in the DeVito Funeral Home 1145 Mass Ave. ARLINGTON. Interment in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at a later date.
